ASTARTE

This site will be come together piece as I edit material and find more.

I've sorted through some links, more then a few neopagan pages have been read and ignored here because of their nauseating habit of describing every deity as an aspect of another deity. While Christian and Jewish derived references have their own unpleasentries at least they recognize Astarte more or less as a distinct entity.

Jewish Enclopedia on Ashtoreth - on the worship of Astarte

an exception to my my leaving out air-headed new age type of references, this one by a 13 year is a bit more rational then many circulating

A bit of new-age crystals and visualize crap but also a bit of historical info

A few from books

I found this text some years back, never found out what its source was, the site it was on (pagan.cjb.net) closed down.
It has been retypeset and each chapter is put into its own file to aid readability, otherwise this is basically as I found it.
This is a different perspective on history, giving an idea on how the pagan nations of the Old Testament may have viewed events..

Introduction. --
Chapter 1 Origo. -- Chapter 2 Strages. -- Chapter 3 Zabaoth. --
Chapter 4 Isabell. -- Chapter 5 Proleium. -- Chapter 6 Crepusculum. --
Chapter 7 Caligo. -- Chapter 8 Malehuda. -- Chapter 9 Apocalypsis.

I have been working on a revised version (dependant on esatablishing original authorship and copyright) and possibly some supplementary material for publication.

for those interested in a printed paperback copy it can be purchased here
