V PROELIUM

While the years passed, Zabaoth's arrogance became boundless. He denied all the other gods and declared war on them. In his lack of restraint he even claimed to be the lord and creator of the world. When he now saw his power threatened by Ashtaroth, he turned eastward to the land of the Aryans. It was ruled by the mighty god Mithras, a son of Anu, the Supreme God. Into this land Zabaoth sent his prophet Zarathustra. Since Zarathustra was great at wisdom and skill, he managed to incite the people and to shake the power of Mithras, and so a fierce battle between Mithras and Zabaoth was inflamed. But the sinister god soon gained victory over his opponent by the help of his prophet Zarathustra. Mithras however, who was defeated, was banned from the land of the Aryans.
Meanwhile Belial, the apostate warlord of Zabaoth, followed the trail of his former master. Because the enmity between them continued unchanged. And wherever Zabaoth went to rule, there Belial wanted to smite his reign.
For a long time Marduk, who meanwhile was the mightiest of the gods, had shewed patience to Zabaoth. Now however, since the Dark God had become more and more excessive in his greed for power and had driven out even the glorious Mithras from his traditional reign, the patience of Marduk was finally exhausted. And thus he established a covenant with Ashtaroth, who was the strongest warrior among the gods after Assur to punish Zabaoth for his arrogance. Together they called the mighty nation of Babylon to arms.
Thereupon the warriors of Babylon invaded the land of Zabaoth. And they smashed the reign of the sinister god. They cleaned the temples, which were soiled by Zabaoth's filth. The hugest of the temples however was demolished, since the unholy cult stuck to it like leprosy. Then they took the slaves of Zabaoth as prisoners unto Babylon. Because they had proven to be unworthy of their liberty. They had been slaves in Memphis and Thebes, and they had remained slaves in their own land, then they should also be slaves in future.
Broken was the power of Zabaoth, his reign was destroyed, his priests in prison. Again he had become the most miserable of the gods. Darkness was taken away from humans, liberty and fortune had returned to them.
And Marduk rewarded the nation of Babylon for their feat and put it in place of the reign of Memphis and Thebes, which finally had lost its former strength after many millenniums of power. But the reign of Babylon lasted briefly. Because another empire began to rise, which was going to rule over the whole earth. Its rise took centuries, but its rule should take millenniums. The City was the head of the empire. And its mighty arms covered all parts of the world. It was an empire of humans and not of gods. Although the gods were paid reference, obedience was shewed to humans.
All kings on the earth had to submit to the invincible legions of the City. And there was no land, which did not pay its tribute to the City. This was the age of the City, and its years were counted from the day, the City had been founded.
